Services offered by South Link Health to Primary Health Organisations (PHOs)

South Link Health offers services to a number of South Island and North Island based PHOs. These are generally covered by the groupings of Information Technology, Finance, Education, Clinical Programmes as well as Consultancy and Expert Services.

PHO Information Services Management

A range of services can be offered that support PHO business functionality especially as it relates to basic register functions, service utilization activity, clinical performance indicators, provider lists, PHO funded clinical programme activity and sector connectivity, and that these functions are managed in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s IT infrastructure and processes.

Financial Services

Mechanisms can be put in place to ensure overall reporting of standard PHO accounting and financial services including accounts payable and receivable, GST returns, monthly and annual reports plus a treasury function. In addition there is a range of other health specific functions offered such as statistical returns as per PHO/District Health Board contracts, making of capitation and other payments to practices, analysis and costing of PHO projects and reporting on contract lines to District Health Boards.

Clinical Programmes

Our purpose is to offer clinical programmes to PHOs that promote good health, prevent ill health, improve health status and contribute to the effective management of disease. Good examples lie in the areas of Diabetes assessment, Mental Health Brief Intervention, Well Men’s/Well Women’s and Youth Sexual Health programmes.

Consultancy and Expert Services

South Link Health stands ready to offer services outside the scope of those listed above that can make a valuable contribution to the overall health outcomes of PHOs’ enrolled populations on a case-by-case basis, such as PHO Performance Management.
